The yearly Buggycamp is more than a competition meeting. Most of the members stay there for a whole week celebrating their passion and this time the island welcomed us with the best weather the North of Europe can offer. For the first time the German KLB Championship opened the Camp at the first weekend as you can read in the separate story of Marijn. In addition of the kiddiecamp there was a premiere- the KLB youth camp and the PL- Teamriders Nick, Flo and PL Representer Germany Guntram led the youth camp in their function as Official GPA KLB Instructors.
The youth camp was a full success and a perfect chance screening new talents amending the PL team.
Monday, direct after the KLB Weekend started the funevents of the Buggycamp. At first started a Race where a Buggyer and a Boarder had to compete in a team. In the youth camp there were enough KLB riders so the race started with more than 15 teams!
As Peter Lynn has got the Vapor and ability teamriders for all kite sports Nick and Sebastian could take the first place (Team Vaporisation), the Berlin Connection Basti and Flo became 5th and Dominik van Boven surprised with his Boardskills competing on Board and Buggy in the second race because his teammate passed out. Well done!
There was also a women team on start. Luisa, participant of the youth camp and a big talent in the KLB earned her first trophy. Why this comment? Luisa is an enthusiastic arc user. She rides with older twinskins and was amazed about the Charger and also the new range of handle kites. A new Peter Lynn team member in sight? We will see…

During the race the GPA buggy kiddie day was held. More than 20 Kids in different ages from 3 years to 16 years improved their skills and learned a lot. It was great to see their sparkling eyes with joy.
Formel 1, a Buggyrace were the teams have to hit the best laptime for the startposition took place on Tuesday. In the race the teams had to change wheels on their Buggys.
Our race machines Sebastian and Basti (“The 2 Bastis”) won this with a first place in group A and B.
On Wednesday was a long distance buggy race with two runs of nearly two hours. Sebastian rode again to the podium, this time the 3rd Place. Over all Sebastian was the best rider and won the Trophy of the Buggycamp once more. Congratulations Sebastian!
The Competitions in German Open and MasterClass finished the week.
After some Rain 2 Open and 3 Master- Races were held on Thursday.
Thursday evening started the traditional award ceremony for the season 2011.
Dominik is vice Master in the Junior Class and Calle is the Winner of the Open Class.
In the Masters overall ranking with Basti 3rd, Sebi 4th and Nick 7th we got 3 Lynn- Competitors for the Europeans in Hoylake, where everybody of us is looking forward to now. Unfortunately Sebastian cannot start at the EM in case of his studies.
Congratulations to this performance guys!
Pure Open drivers had to do one more race in the rain on Friday, then the weatherforced things to an end.
Here are the Results of our Teamriders:
1st Junior Dominik van Boven.
5th Open Andreas Rissmann
In the Masterclass drove Nick to the 3rd Place , Basti Bischoff to the 5th and Sebastian Thomes with two won races and once bad luck in a kite collision to the 7th Place. Calle Redecker drove the first time in the Masterclass and ended on 13th, Guntram at the 15th and Foki at the 16th place.
The Peter Lynn Team had a great week on Römö with long kiteable days on the Buggy, the land board and the Water.
Now the Wind is calling me for the next Kitesurf session, ripping the waves with the 8m Charger…
Cheers,
Nick Stimpel
