crazy trip to snowtime

Hit the road Friday early morning to drive over to Metz, France where I was to meet up with PL teamriders Romain Feaux and Yann Lhuisset. From Metz we had a 7Hr drive to Satzung (East Germany next to the Czech Border) where Foilfest organized their annual Snowkite event Snowtime!

After checking into the holiday house we met up with some of the attendees in a local pub for a drink and a few laughs, after which we turned in early because we were super stoked to go riding the next day.

Saturday morning we went to the spot which was covered in a good thick layer of fresh snow.

Wind conditions were quite light so we took out the big foils to play with, and man does the big Twister rock in these conditions, even in low winds it provided more than enough power for a cool freestyle session, which was to be a warm up for the coming Sunday.

In the evening everybody gathered in the local Gasthof for some good food and good times.

On Sunday the conditions couldn’t be more perfect, a spotless blue sky, fresh powder and an amazing view made for a most awesome session on a fantastic spot.

The day started with lightish winds so again we took out the big Twister and even a 13m Vapor which proved to be a more than excellent low wind weapon, Romain even used it to do some freestyle which was pretty awesome.

Later the winds picked up so we swapped the 13m Vapor for the 15m Charger and soon the guys were getting some proper airtime, big rotations, backloop kiteloops, grabs, in other words: Woop woop!
