The weekend of 26 and 27th of February was another race weekend for the Dutch nationals kitebuggying. Saturday started off rainy. Although the course was set, rain came pouring down and after a couple of hours racing was completely suspended for the day. In moments like these it makes you wonder: why did I get up at 5 in the morning to drive for 1,5 hours to the beach for just a couple of hours waiting? Kitebuggying is not only about a sport. First of all it’s a group of people sharing a passion. Passion for wind, speed, being outdoor, enjoying the elements. And while we get our highs from the elements, they also give us our lows. And it just doesn’t matter when your out there with a group of friends.

Although most of Holland was rainy on Sunday, miraculously our beach was dry and we even saw a bit of sunshine through the clouds. A good wind was blowing and 3 races where held for both the masters as well as the open class.

PL well represented on stage, from left to right: Justin Hafkamp 1st place kids class, Jeroen “Ozzie” Potters 2nd Masters, Erik Leegwater 2nd in the open class and middle left reigning world champion John Jansen with a 1st place.

Teamrider Koen Schepers, a buggyracing kitesurfer, right on!
A big shout out to our reporter Remco Hafkamp who got downed by the flu after this weekend. Hope you feel better!
Congrats to all winners!
