Hi,
I am planning to buy a hornet 2. What is the recommended size for a beginner ?
Thanks
Most start with a kite in the 2 to 4m range, depends on your local winds, the stronger the winds the smaller the kite.
Knowledge wants to be free, just like these arcitles!
How is the Hornet II different from the original Hornet?
The Hornet II flies a bit faster and has gotten some reinforcements inside the kite as well as a full Dyneema, less complicated bridle for better responsiveness to steering input.
why are de handels of de hornet2 smaller dan from my last hornet
Hornet 2m, 3m & 4m come with small handles and the bigger sizes come with bigger handles.
thank you so much for making this kite it is really good so i have 2 i have 1.5 and a 4 man the 1.5 has taken me of my feet without the buggy now it is time 4 the 4.o with the buggy
get it time 4 the 4.0
Hello,
Which bar is supplied with the peter lynn hornet I and II?
Is it the powerkit bar or the powerkite bar classic?
Thank you
Hi Joost,
As standard the Hornet with bar oiption comes with the powerkite bar, but for the biggest sizes (5 & 6m) you might wanbt to consider the classic as this one steers with the brakelines as well which makes it quicker through turns.
How come there isnt an 8m , any plans for one to be made. I have the 8m Hornet (I), and its a great kite for boarding with.
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your post.
We stopped the 8m hornet as we didn’t sell them a lot, a good alternative for on the board is the Twister IIR 7.7m.
The Twister offers more lift and more power and is designed for use on a board.
Cheers.
Hi I want to buy a kite.
I am 13 years old and weigh around 60kg
My dad has the 3 meter hornet and I was thinking of buying the 2 meter. I dont want to have something that drags me acros a field but I do want some power. Should I get the 2Meter or another 3 Meter?
Hi Dewan,
.
Thanks for posting your question.
The 2m Hornet will be right for what you want, power but not too much dragging about, in higher winds it will drag you around tho!
It does need a bit more wind than the 3m so when it’s too light for the 2m just steal that 3m off dad
Cheers.
hi,
i would like to try buggy kite with the hornet.
I weigh 90kg and the wind is quite light here: between 15km/h and 30km/h.
What size of wing should i have?
Hi, thanks for posting.
, a 5m will get you going with ease.
Those are good winds to ride
You might want to consider a 4 + a 6m though, to cover the entire windrange you describe.
Ride safe!
Hi,
I am not sure whether to get a 3.0 of 4.0. My weight is about 77 kg, and windspeed mostly around 3 to 4 Beaufort here. I have experience with a 2.3 vibe II, and am looking for more power. Any advice you can give me is welcome.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for posting.
Both the sizes you mention are great to progress onto, they both cover most ‘normal’ winds we get in Holland, the 3m is quick and a lot of fun just static flying and the 4m has that little extra power that will get you going easier in a buggy for example.
They both pack quite some power if you fly them in higher winds, where the 4m needs a bit less wind to start with.
If flown responsibly I would say go for the 4m, gives you a bit more windrange.
Good winds.
