The race week started on Teusday with registrations and technical check-up of the buggies. We saw people actually sawing off parts of their weights to get under the maximum weight of 60Kgs. After everybody checked in and had their buggies approved for the race the day was almost over.
Wednesday the weather was pretty good, onshore winds and sunshine were the perfect mix for a great day of racing. The narrow beach with only three turning markers gave the heavier riders a slight advantage.
The many tidal gulley’s made for spectacular high speed splashes.
The first race was won by Ozzy, closely followed by Arjen and Bastian. John had a little run in with another rider so he came in on 6th place. In the following two races no one stood in John´s way making it possible for him to nab the top spot. Arjen finished on 2nd and 12th, Bastian on 3rd and 2nd and Ozzy on 8th and 3rd.
So the winner of the day was John, followed by Bastian and Ozzy and to complete the Vapor dominance 4th place was for Arjen followed by Sebastian on 5th and Stephen on 6th.
On the second raceday the weather was quite nice but the winds were offshore and very challenging to say the least with a difference of 12 knots from one spot to another. Many riders struggled with the gusts and lulls but Stephan Schapman showed why he is French Champion, taking the day Victory.
A special thanks goes out to Walter Carels for the fantastic pictures.
And of course a huge shout out to our most awesome team, you guys rock!
All the best,
The Peter Lynn Team.
