Kerhillio MTB Party III

The Kerhillio MTB party was organised for the third time this year by PL teamrider Yann Lhuisset and our friend Erwan Gruell. This year the party attracted a stunning 98 registered riders, some of which from outside France. Yann, Romain and a couple friends started building up the event area teusday, 2 days before it all started. When the whole area was fenced off, and the tents were built up there was time for a little session to line the kickers and sliders up.

Thursday people from all over arrived on the spot setting up camp and kites, the atmosphere was very chilled and the summer weather provided a good summer vibe. The DJ played some funky tunes and even though winds were offshore and gusty some of the riders were making good use of the kickers and boosting some huge air. On the beach the tides couldn’t be better with low tide from noon to 18:00 and the beach was in perfect shape, smooth like a pooltable and rocksolid which made for some sweet buggyrides.

Friday the best trick competition was planned and everyone entering this comp had to dress up funny which made for some hilarious landboarding action, Batman, drag, Scary white masks, it all came off the ramp and provided for some good entertainment for all spectators, even teamrider Fred came off the ramp in his buggy all dressed up. The competition was completely in the style of the rest of the event, everything about having fun and sharing good times so competitors weren’t judged on their skills but on their costume.

In the evening there was a party in the Coota Bar, located right next to the spot and the guys at the bar made sure everyone had more than enough to drink, mojito after mojito was prepared and come closing time everyone was happy to go to bed after a long day. Saturday started again pretty early (no chance of sleeping in because the moment the sun hits your tent it turns into an oven) and it turned out to be a very hot day. In the afternoon the prizegiving was done and the trophies the guys from Kitesk8 came up with are some of the best I’ve ever seen for a landboarding comp.

All in all the Kerhillio MTB Party was again one of the coolest events of the year so a big thanks to Yann & Erwan for organizing, thanks to Romain and all who helped building up, and making sure everything ran without trouble.

Already looking forward to next year!

Cheers,

Team Peter Lynn

  1. Yeah ! Was really nice. The first obligatory non-serious landboard event in the world!
