German Buggy Championships, Easter Race SPO 2011
At the last weekend the German Buggy Race Circus had the third heat. Over 100 riders made this meeting to a great spectacle.
The German Peter Lynn Buggy Team made an own pit lane with all German riders.

Also the new “young wilds” were started with their new quiver of Vapors. Especially the kites of Dominik looks really awesome and evil, the right colours for his driving style…

The wind conditions from east were really hard and gusty, so many riders has a lot of problems to handle their small kites. Even Big Bastian rode with a 3.8sqm Vapor. Speeds over 70km/h on the course with 14 markers were normal so the races were perfect to get an overdoses of adrenalin.

In the Junior Class Dominik was fighting hard about the first place. Unfortunately he got some penalty points and he landed at the 2nd place.
Jan-Laurens had a lot of problems and flew out of the buggy choosing the wrong size. He landed at the 5th place.
In the Open Class Calle dominated up to now so everybody counted on another win.

But he also had many trouble with the small sizes and unfortunately at one run he had a broken line.
All the same he landed at the 4th in the weekend result.
At the Master Class was Arjen additional to the German Team Riders on the Start.
He rode like the devil and earned the 2nd place and a peck from the German President and Race Master Jens Ball.

At the last long distance heat over 90 minutes Arjen Sebastian and Nick had a battle ahead of the pack but at Nicks handle broke one of the lines and he lost useful points and got only the 12th place.
Sascha had after the ugly results at the first day his best result and showed that he is able to ride in the Top 10. Anyway, his weekend result was gone and he landed on the 23th place. He learned a lot at his first season in the Master Class, the same like me. I was happy about my weekend result on the 16th place and look forward to scratch the top ten.

How complicated the conditions were you can see on the result of the best placed German Peter Lynn Rider Sebastian. He landed on the 7th place in spite of two really good third places at heat 4 and 5.
The same problems had Big Bastian. His heat results were not consistent enough to get a top ranking also in case of the competitiveness of the other riders. At the long distance run he had some problems to find the right size and landed on the 12 place directly in front of me. At the weekend evaluation he landed on the 6th place and was the best German PL Rider.
At Monday the Tandem Races were started.

We had two Peter Lynn Vapor trains, one with Sebastian and Nick and the other with Sascha and me. A lot of teams were on the start and the wind conditions were a little bit less gusty than the two days before.
Sebi and Nick dominated the races and finished three from four races on 1st place and got a safe win.

Sascha and I landed on good 4th place.
All and all it was a really nice race weekend with awesome weather, a lot of wind, sun and sand in the ears, eyes and everywhere.
